Tobacco Valley Rodeo
With over 50 years of rodeo experience behind them, members of the Tobacco Valley Rodeo Association produce one of the best rodeos in the West. The two-day event is July 25-26 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, starting at 8 p.m. each evening.
Organizer Mike Cole hopes to unveil new events and highlights to the event this year. Locals will have more chances to compete and win some money this year, he said.
In addition to an evening of entertainment, rodeo fans will be tempted by an array of food, from chicken, burgers, and steak sandwiches to cool refreshments. “The food menu has grown,” Cole said.
Jacob’s Livestock and Rodeo will provide the stock for the rodeo, which draws competitors and spectators from Canada and across the Northwest – and from around the country as far away as Connecticut. Thousands of added prize dollars, along with buckles and other prizes, add to the competition.
Events include saddle bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping for the ladies and juniors, and other events. Announcing the rodeo is veteran Joe Warner, whose knowledge of the stock and the competitors adds color to the action.
Tickets are available locally or contact Cole at 406-882-4444 or the Lincoln County Fair Office, 406-296-3471. |
