Northwest Healthcare has been active in the Tobacco Valley since 1975 when the ALERT helicopter began providing emergency transportation to our area. In 1997 they took a more active, daily role with the purchase of Eureka Prompt Care. In the spring of 2000 a new clinic was opened on Osloski Road. Northwest Healthcare and Kalispell Regional Medical Center have continued to step up to the plate to meet the needs of the valley. Over the past eight years the clinic has continued to grow. There are now two clinics: Prompt Care, providing comprehensive family care and urgent care, and The Therapy Center, providing physical and occupational therapy services (see the Eureka Health – Therapy Center for more info).
Once again, their commitment to the Tobacco Valley is showing. A new primary care clinic is being built, and the current building will be remodeled to house an expanded Therapy Center and a dedicated conference room for health education. This past year we have been pleased to offer digital CT scanning in addition to our digital x-ray service. This new technology allows us to immediately consult with radiologists in Kalispell during emergency situations. As our new facility is completed, the scanner will be placed in its permanent home within the clinic walls. Since February 2009 the Winkley Women’s Coach, a traveling coach sponsored by Kalispell Regional Medical Center, has been providing mammography services as well as bone-density scans twice a month. Eureka Health – Prompt Care provides full spectrum family care, including nursing home care, gynecology, contraception, prenatal care, circumcision, well-child care, vasectomy, coumadin protime monitoring, treadmill cardiac testing, skin lesion removals and orthopedic care. We are also pleased to provide flexible sigmoidoscopy for colon cancer screening. Lab and x-ray services are available on-site, and on campus is a lighted helipad for emergency evacuation by air to complete the minor emergency room. Services are provided by American Academy of Family Physician Board Certified physician Ed Stein, MD and by R. James Schmidt, PA-C and our newest addition A. Linda Schatzel, PA-C.
There are a number of visiting providers from the Kalispell area who assist in providing specialty care including cardiology, orthopedic medicine, urology and obstetrical care. Eureka Prompt Care works with many primary or specialty physicians in the Kalispell and Whitefish area to coordinate local medical care.
We are pleased to provide services Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. A provider is on call 24 hours a day and can be accessed via our local phone number – 297-3145.
