Hofer Masonry owner Steve Hofers younger years were spent on a large farm where building and fixing were part of everyday life.
In 1984, he moved to Missouri, where his construction career began.

In 1986, he took the plunge and started his own home improvement business. Before he discovered stonework, he had worked in most fields of construction. Hofer found that having his own business in the home improvement field felt natural. Roofing, siding, room additions, and replacement windows are just some of the projects he completed. He sold his original business and founded a seamless gutter business that added deck building.
Once in Montana, I found my love of stonework and decided that was the direction I wanted to go, Hofer said. Natural stone and cultured stone are some of the media with which I work. Stone projects are like works of art a finished project is a thing of great beauty and joy.
Quality stone craftsmanship is Hofers specialty, and you can see examples of it all over the Tobacco Valley. The new Whitefish Credit Union building boasts walls and pillars of stonework that took several months to finish. The Wilderness Club golf course has several large pieces of his work, as well as the newly remodeled exterior of the Eureka Liquor Store.
Hofer reminds people that value can easily be added to any building through decorative and long lasting stone improvements.
Adding stone work to your home or business is a wonderful investment, Hofer added. And Hofer Masonry is the company to call for all your stonework.
