Now beginning its second year of operation in its new clinic, the staff of North Country Medical Clinic has decided one thing, “In this case, bigger is better,” says Allyson Hooper of the business staff. “We finally have the clinic our patients deserve,” beams Dr. Raluca Ionescu.

Although North Country has changed its look, the personalized patient care remains the same. “Meeting our patients individualized needs is our number one priority.” states Tina Taurman, office manager, “That is why our clinic providers strive to be available to our patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week in case of emergencies.”
Overlooking the beautiful expanse of the Tobacco Valley, the almost 9,000 square foot clinic is looking forward to becoming a hub for healthcare in the Eureka community. North Country has begun to offer specialty services in the community. Many of the Flathead specialists: Dr. Bailey (orthopedics), Dr. Rizzolo (spine ppecialist), Dr. Mercer (urology), and Dr. Madigan (cardiology) are offering regular satellite clinics on the North Country Medical campus.
The clinic is equipped for everything from urgent care to the common cold. North Country Medical provides primary care, wellness checks (including children), vaccinations, women’s health, commercial driver’s physicals, pre-employment and post accident drug screening, biopsy bay, allergy injections, EKG’s, and on-site Coumadin monitoring. In addition, the high tech digital x-ray allows instant consults with specialists in the Flathead.
A mobile ultrasound is available two days per week for better accessibility and faster results.
“The new building has been a great help to the staff and a good improvement to the community,” according to resident and patient Stan Hermann.
Marilyn McKenzie, Eureka resident, patient, and caregiver for her husband, Robert, said her husband wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the expertise of Dr. Serban Ionescu and the willingness of the entire staff to get him where he needed to go for help. “I’m really thankful for their support, consideration and kindness,” she said. “The Ionescu’s are wonderful, not only as physicians but as people. And so is their office staff.”
North Country Medical is the embodiment of the Planetree patient-centered approach. “It is an incredibly caring and fun environment to work in,” says Shani Little, part of the business staff. Planetree isn’t just for the patients.
The clinic hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Walk-ins are always welcome but appointments are preferred. Call 297-2438 with questions or for an appointment. large
