Northwest Electrical Contractors has been providing electrical services to the Tobacco Valley since 1995 and has been growing alongside the community.

Owner Jeff Broom started the company after nine years of experience working as an electrician, and for the first few years they had just two workers – Broom and his brother-in-law, Jeff Schermerhorn. As things have changed and grown in the valley, so has Northwest Electrical – even expanding to the Flathead Valley. They’ve added employees to meet the growing workload, and now there are nine people, including Broom’s wife, Andrea, as office manager.
“We consider education as a top priority,” Broom says, noting the changing face of electronics over the last decade. “We’ve grown in knowledge and skill along with size. We frequently attend classes and seminars to be able to offer the latest technologies.”
As a policy, the greatest priority is customer satisfaction, and Northwest Electrical is happy to provide the same service whether its a remodel or large commercial building project.
Some of their main services offered include helping with electrical design, one-on-one with customers — all the way to full integration of home systems. A recent addition is “stand-by systems.”
They also help to provide low voltage solutions, networking, audio and video, theater systems, and more — with aid from its sister company, Northwest Audio Video.
“We try to help make the electrical part of building as easy and painless as possible,” Broom says. “Our crew is the heart of this organization, and they each bring their own unique skills to the business.”
