Shake-It Enterprises is a family-owned business providing a full range of the highest quality, custom building and renovation services.

With over 25 years experience in the construction industry, the last seven in the Tobacco Valley, the owners, Sarita and Troy Welch, began by specializing in cedar shake projects, then expanded to roofing and specialty siding, then to custom-built homes and businesses. Shake-It does not build your average cookie-cutter home, but first works closely with the client in the planning stage to make sure the custom work will reflect the owner’s wishes and personality. The company was much sought after in the mountainous Highlands-Cashiers, N.C,, area because of its willingness and ability to take on difficult projects requiring special engineering and expertise for multi-million-dollar cliff-side homes. In addition to his work for Shake-It Enterprises, Troy Welch also acted as superintendent for other expansive projects.
Not only has Shake-It built homes from foundation to roof, but it has also completed many extensive renovations, both residential and commercial, ranging from thousands to millions. Some of the local clients have been Mountain Vista Veterinary Clinic, where Sarita Welch faux-finished many of the walls; sand-blasted the tile floors with original drawings of animals based upon ancient petroglyphs, and artistically routered panels; the face-lift of the Majestic Theater; tear-down and new building for Cut Diamond Realty; and total renovation of the historic 1908 Pruett House Bed & Breakfast.
Sarita Welch is one of the six Pruett sisters, and grew up in the Eureka area. After many years in the South, where they built up Shake-It Enterprises and a reputation for customer-minded, quality work, Sarita and Troy came “home” to Eureka.
