Bakkila Plumbing and Heating, LLC came to the valley five years ago when Veikko Bakkila and his wife Jennifer moved to Eureka, where they both grew up.
Veikko is a master plumber, and has been doing the work for 16 years – ever since he got out of highschool. He returned to Montana 10 years ago and worked in the Bitterroot and Flathead, but moved back to Eureka when he saw the demand for his area of expertise.
“I wanted to get back to the area, it’s where we both grew up,” Veikko said. “The community is good – a really friendly community.”
Veikko Plumbing and Heating is comprised of a team of Veikko and Jennifer Bakkila, Dan Karberg, Karl Bakkila, Paul Lemer, and Jerry Ott. They’ve always done new construction, but they’re willing to do service work when they’re available.
“Our heating systems are our forte,” Veikko said. “We find the most energy efficient systems for our customers.”
The business sells and installs radiant floor heating systems, hydronic baseboard systems, LP propane boilers, electric boilers, and outdoor wood boilers. The wood boilers are an important product with the current demand for them.
“We also now sell and install fireplace inserts, and gas freestanding stoves,” Veikko added, “as well as water softeners, water treatment systems, and plumbing fixtures.”
Above all else, Veikko stresses his commitment to quality work and the amount of experience on the team.
“I’ve got a lot of experience with the guys. Dan’s been plumbing 18 to 20 years, I’ve been doing it for 16, Jerry for 25, and Paul for 10,” Veikko commented. “We’ll work with people to design what they would need and try to make it affordable.”
