"I was looking for something to do," Bob Nieuwsma said, "when a friend asked me if I'd consider starting a quick lube. So I did." For over seven years Pit Stop Quick Lube Inc. has been giving quality oil changes, but the business has gone far beyond that. Just calling it a 'quick lube' is a bit outdated.
Throughout its 7 1/2 year lifetime, Pit Stop has gone from a simple quick lube to a full fledged auto repair shop with oil changes, windshield repair, transmission flushes, coolant flushes, power steering flushes, A/C service, general auto repair, the best brake jobs in Lincoln county, and an ASE Certified Master Technician by the name of Myles Hickman.
A recent increase in business has resulted in the addition of mechanic Cody Williams and lube tech Randy Berg to the existing staff of Hickman, Nieuwsma, and service writer Jessica Rickman. This year Cody obtained his own ASE Master Technician certification.
Two years ago in July, Hickman became a co-owner with Bob and Cindy Nieuwsma, adding his certified abilities and years of know-how to the experience of Bob Nieuwsma, who has worked on vehicles his whole life. "I pretty much grew up in an auto shop," he stated.
Between their wealth of experience, the co-owners of Pit Stop feel they have the automotive services Eureka can use, and they stress that they're more than just a pair of mechanics.
"I treat each vehicle that comes in here as if it was mine and I was taking it on a long trip." Nieuwsma said. Hickman added, "We don't just change your oil. We give your car a safety check because our customers' safety is our #1 concern. It's our job to inform you of anything about your car you need to know."
The Pit Stop has the only on-car brake lathe around, and feel their brake job is the best in the Valley. With their host of other car-care capabilities and friendly customer service, the Pit Stop is the only stop you need.
