Eureka Rural Development Partners, in partnership with Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, will be serving as the Grant Manager for the administration of a financial assistance program for projects in Lincoln County, Montana that increase and/or enhance the manufacture and/or utilization of wood products combined with job creation and retention. Eureka Rural Development Partners (ERDP) are soliciting proposals from private for-profit, public, and/or non-profit entities within Lincoln County, Montana to enhance economic opportunities for Lincoln County through the utilization of biomass and small-diameter woody material. ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Entities must reside within Lincoln County and be either a for-profit business incorporated within the State of Montana, a non-profit with current IRS standing, or a local or state-owned public institution. All entities must be registered with the Secretary of State. Please note, grant activities can take place outside of Lincoln County but the primary impact, business offices, and/or wood manufacturer or user facility (such as a biomass energy user) should be within Lincoln County boundaries. Eureka Rural Development Partners has received funding through the Montana State Workforce Investment Board and the Montana Community Development Block Grant-Economic Development Planning program for Restoration Forestry Training development. Funding from the two programs will be used to: • Determine skill sets for employment within Restoration Forestry, • Connect with activities being completed on Forestry Restoration Workforce at the University of Montana, • Create a best practice manual for employer training program development, • Develop a “one stop” list for all Forestry based training programs available in the State of Montana and, • Write a Recommendation whitepaper on stackable credentials for the State of Montana in the wood/forestry industries. ERDP is requesting proposals from qualified consulting firm(s) for the above work. The timeline for the work is January 2012-May 2012 with specific timeline goals to be set and accomplished upon hire.
